WOULD YOU LIKE BOOKS FOR THE CHILDREN AT YOUR SCHOOL OR SETTING?
We gift carefully curated surplus new and pre-loved books to children and families across the UK that for a variety of reasons are less likely to own their own books. There is a direct correlation between book ownership and children’s propensity to see themselves as a reader and read for fun and in turn, a direct link between childhood book poverty and health, wealth and wellbeing outcomes in life.
We understand that children within the communities we support may lack the confidence and experience to confidently choose their own books. Our gifting events are designed to:
- Promote informal book talk and sharing
- Enable the creation of social reading environments
- Support children’s preferred reading preferences
- Give children agency and the chance to self-determine likes and dislikes
- Provide rich engagement with a wide variety of genres and titles
- Build your school’s identity as a reading community
WHERE DO OUR BOOKS COME FROM?
We collect books from families that have grown out of theirs, remove any that are tatty and then organise them by age and stage prior to gifting to children with very few books of their own via their schools and other organisations.
