Taking part in an event is a fantastic, fun and social way to fundraise and raise awareness of the powerful role that book ownership plays in childhood. Every one of our runners, cyclists and swimmers makes a difference to the number of children we can reach and support.
You or your organisation can fundraise on our behalf and there are hundreds of events to choose from! We are Gift Aid registered and have a page on JustGiving to make it easy for you to set up.
Upcoming events
Bath Half
The perfect event for every runner, this flat and beautiful course will take you around the streets of Bath, with thousands of local spectators willing you on all the way. Event date: 16th March 2025.
Edinburgh Marathon
Starting in Edinburgh, the course heads out through East Lothian offering stunning views and an unforgettable running experience. This marathon route is one of the fastest in the UK making that elusive personal best a distinct possibility! Event date: 25th May 2025.
Paris Marathon
Run from the Arc de Triomphe along the Seine and around the streets of Paris before an unforgettable arrival close to the Eiffel Tower in this marathon suitable for both novices and experienced athletes. Event date: 13th April 2025.
London Landmarks Half Marathon
An iconic closed roads half marathon around the streets of London seeing all the famous sites. Event date: 6th April 2025. Contact jo@childrensbookproject.co.uk to secure your space.
Hackney Half
One of London’s most vibrant running events, hit the streets of Hackney for this energetic and energising 10k. Definitely one for your running calendar. Event date: 28th February 2025.
Nottingham 10K
This year's vibrant Nottingham 10K for runners of all abilities starts in Old Market Square and finishes inside the grounds of Nottingham Castle. Event date: 9th March 2025.
Cycling
Cycle to Paris, Amsterdam or the epic Ford Ride London 100 mile route and take part in some of the world’s greatest cycling experiences. With heaps of support along the way and hundreds of co-riders, these events are unbeatable. Various dates.
Run Alton Towers
Starting and finishing within Alton Towers Theme Park take on a chip timed 5k, 10k or Half Marathon before enjoying the incredible rides at the park. *FREE ride access after the race is included in your entry! Event date: 16th November 2024.
Birmingham Running Festival
A unique opportunity to run a 5k, 10k or Half Marathon around the beautiful Sutton Park, a 2,400 acre National Nature Reserve in Birmingham. Event date: 22nd December 2024 and 16th February 2025.
