Taking part in an event is a fantastic, fun and social way to fundraise and raise awareness of the powerful role that book ownership plays in childhood. Every one of our runners, cyclists and swimmers makes a difference to the number of children we can reach and support.
You or your organisation can fundraise on our behalf and there are hundreds of events to choose from! We are Gift Aid registered and have a page on JustGiving to make it easy for you to set up.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon
The Royal Parks Half Marathon is one of the most spectacular events in the running calendar as well as being the greenest race of its kind in the UK. Running on closed roads through 4 of the Royal Parks you will take in the sights of Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall as you go. Join the festival atmosphere on this mostly flat 13.1 mile run.

Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon
Fancy taking on a big challenge in 2025? Join the Children's Book Project Team and run the Leeds Marathon! The hilly 26.2 mile marathon route explores the very best of Leeds, from Headingley to Otley and beyond. Participants will run through some of Leeds most diverse suburbs and scenic outer countryside. Event Date: Sunday 11th May 2025.

Bath Half
The perfect event for every runner, this flat and beautiful course will take you around the streets of Bath, with thousands of local spectators willing you on all the way. Event date: 16th March 2025.
Edinburgh Marathon
Starting in Edinburgh, the course heads out through East Lothian offering stunning views and an unforgettable running experience. This marathon route is one of the fastest in the UK making that elusive personal best a distinct possibility! Event date: 25th May 2025.
Paris Marathon
Run from the Arc de Triomphe along the Seine and around the streets of Paris before an unforgettable arrival close to the Eiffel Tower in this marathon suitable for both novices and experienced athletes. Event date: 13th April 2025.
Hackney Half
One of London’s most vibrant running events, hit the streets of Hackney for this energetic and energising 10k. Definitely one for your running calendar. Event date: 28th February 2025.
Nottingham 10K
This year's vibrant Nottingham 10K for runners of all abilities starts in Old Market Square and finishes inside the grounds of Nottingham Castle. Event date: 9th March 2025.
Cycling
Cycle to Paris, Amsterdam or the epic Ford Ride London 100 mile route and take part in some of the world’s greatest cycling experiences. With heaps of support along the way and hundreds of co-riders, these events are unbeatable. Various dates.
Birmingham Running Festival
A unique opportunity to run a 5k, 10k or Half Marathon around the beautiful Sutton Park, a 2,400 acre National Nature Reserve in Birmingham. Event date: 16th February 2025.
Inflatable Events
Get ready to bounce your way through The World's BIGGEST and most EPIC Inflatable 5K Obstacle Courses! Jumping, sliding, and bouncing your way to the finish line like never before.
Cardiff Half
On this flat and fast course you will pass all of the city’s most breathtaking scenery and iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, Civic Centre and stunning Cardiff Bay. Event date: 5th October 2025
