This year, we joined forces with Zarach to bring comfort, security, and the joy of reading to children across Leeds.
Zarach, a Leeds-based charity dedicated to ending bed poverty, provides vital support to families by delivering beds to children who do not have a bed of their own. Alongside this, they give bundles which typically include a duvet, bedding, and pyjamas, helping to ensure children get the rest they need to thrive at school and in life.
By partnering with our charity this year, these bundles have also been able to include something equally powerful: a book. We’ve gifted a wide range of titles suitable for children of all ages, helping to create a more nurturing bedtime experience and promote literacy from an early age.
Both charities share a deep commitment to supporting children facing the most challenging circumstances. While Zarach works to address the basic physical need for a bed, the Children’s Book Project compliments this by nurturing emotional wellbeing and imagination through stories. Together, we are helping to create a holistic foundation for healthier sleep, improved literacy, and brighter futures.
This collaboration not only enhances the impact of each of our organisation’s work but also sends a clear message: every child deserves the dignity of a safe place to sleep and the opportunity to dream – both in their rest and in their reading. By bringing comfort and connection through practical support and the gift of books, we are changing lives, one bedtime at a time.
