Episode four: David & Ivor Baddiel
Brothers David and Ivor Baddiel, both prolific writers, both working in comedy. Between them, they've created books, plays, musicals, films, the biggest selling football single of all time, TV shows and documentaries, oftentimes mining their own idiosyncratic family life as source material. As David likes to say, everything is copy, quoting the inimitable Nora Ephron.
Together with our host (BAFTA-nominated comedian, actor, author Rachel Parris), David and Ivor reveal (at least) three children's books that have helped make them who they are today. Delivering not quite the soundtrack of their lives, but the literary yarn that knits it together.
THREE BOOKS, THREE STORIES
David and Ivor select three titles that reveal a personal story:
- Childhood Favourite - the book that shaped who they are today
- Shared Book - a book read with someone special
- Gift to the Future - a title they wish to donate to inspire another child
