Since our partnership with Banner began in April 2023, they have collected an incredible 42,000 books to date — growing from 10,000 in the first year to over 20,000 last year, and expecting to exceed that target this year.
This remarkable support has been key to launching our Birmingham Hub, allowing us to gift books to numerous schools across the city.
Donation hubs have been set up across the country in Banner’s uniform stores, depots, and head office. Individuals, schools, and companies have all used these points to donate their pre-loved books. Banner then arranges for the books to be delivered to one of our hubs — all at their own cost.
Laura Williams, Executive PA at Monkhouse, says:
“When we partnered with The Children’s Book Project in April 2023, we expected to be able to donate around 500 books… so far, we have collected and donated over 42,000!!!!
The charity is such an amazing charity and we have been welcomed with open arms. It gives me goosebumps to think that with the support from our colleagues and customers, not only have we helped get the Birmingham hub off the ground, we have helped thousands of children, allowing them to own a book of their very own that they may not have had the opportunity to do.
We, as a business, have attended several sorting days, volunteering our time to sort the thousands of books, and it’s absolutely humbling to see where these books are going — some even being donated to the schools we supply uniform for – win win! Thank you The Children’s Book Project – keep being all kinds of AMAZING!”
We are so grateful for our partnership with Banner, which has helped make book donation simple and accessible to communities across the UK.
